How To Make Money By Playing Free Poker

Learn how to make good money by playing free poker in pubs, or in free online tournaments.

There are many different ways to make money by playing free poker. I play pub poker once a week with my father. I buy a meal, and a pint of beer or two, and then I might buy some raffle tickets.

They're not allowed to charge money to play poker here, unless it's in the casino. I've been state champion twice, out of about six or seven different state finals, playing against over a hundred people each time.

I've won about fifteen thousand dollars over the past three years, so it's really paid off, and I'm playing another state final in a week. I'm going to try to tell you what my secrets are for winning a big poker tournament.

First of all, it's different for every hand, and it's different based on the people you're playing against, the amount of chips you have, the blinds, and of course the cards in your hand.

I only usually play pocket pairs, high cards, and suited connectors. I try to mix it up a bit, so I'm not always betting the same way. I often raise on a medium to good hand before the flop.

If nobody raises before me, I follow it up with a continuation bet after the flop to test the water, and see who's got what. It's not so much a matter of me having anything, it's a matter of whether they have something good enough to bet.

I can usually tell by the way they call the raise before the flop whether they have a good hand, like high cards, or pockets. This means I have a fairly good chance of working out if they've hit, as pockets are rare.

Because I raised to begin with, they may assume that I have pockets, and if I bet after the flop, they may just fold, but if they don't, then I may have to concede that I've lost that hand, unless I've actually hit something.

This is the way bluffing works, it's better to bluff with a good hand to start with, and hope that it hits if your bet is called. Some would say that it's better to just call, and there is a time for that, but if you're actually trying to win, you have to play a little bit risky.

Make Money By Playing Free Poker

This is how you make money by playing free poker, you gotta have balls. Tight-aggressive is the only way to play. I usually show my hand even if they fold, so they know that most of the time I have it, and some of the time I don't.

This way I can sometimes convince them to call a huge raise when I actually have something. You gotta know when to hold 'em, and know when to fold 'em.

That's Texas Hold'em, and it's a great game. I won the state finals the very first season I played. I did a lot of all in bets, and I just happened to be lucky enough to win when I was called, a few times in a row.

The thing about an all in bet is you want to do it a few times in a row, so that people think you're just bluffing when you do that, and then wait until you have the pocket aces, and then they may just call you with pocket queens.

It's a game of luck as much as it is a game of skill, but it's not coincidence that I won so many games. It's a high card game, so ace anything is good, a suited ace is better, and ace king suited is better still.

It's not rocket science, you figure out the odds of hitting, like if you get four parts of a flush on the flop, the odds are a bit less than fifty-fifty that you're going to hit the last suit in the next two cards.

If you had top pair, or a straight draw as well, then this would be a really good hand, and it's still good enough to go all in on, but if they call you, you've gotta live with the odds.

The reason why you would go all in on four parts of a flush even though it's a less than fifty-fifty bet is that the odds are also fifty-fifty that they will call you, (depending on how they've been betting, and their chip stack).

Anyway, I could go on about how to make money by playing free poker forever, you just have to learn the odds, and figure out how to act like you've got the "nuts". That's all I can tell you, except you can gain entry into big tournaments by playing free poker online as well.
