How do you build a passive income that keeps coming in for years online? Do you need to be an expert at website building, or is there an easier way?
There are many different ways to build a passive income online, but if you are serious about it, you will probably need to learn how to build websites, and do it quickly and efficiently.
You should have a fairly original idea, and one that people will be looking for in a Google search, which is not an easy combination to get right.
It helps if you have your own product to sell, or you can sell things as an affiliate, or just get paid for the advertising on the page.
The first step is to do keyword research, and/or market research, to find out what people are searching for on Google, how much competition there is for those keywords, how many people are buying your product online, or do a survey on whether people would be likely to want to buy your product if they saw it.
You can do keyword research by checking the search volumes of popular keywords and phrases on the Google Adwords keyword tool, and compare it to the amount of exact matches to the same words in a Google search. To do that, you should type the word into Google in quotation marks.
You take a look at the first page of search results, and maybe analyse their page ranks, and back links, maybe with the free SEO toolbar from SEO Book.
Now you buy a domain name, hopefully with as close a match to the keyword you chose for the title of your page. For example, if you decided to go with passive income online as your title, you would try to get passiveincomeonline.com.
The domain costs about $10 a year, and then you have to pay for hosting. A guy I knew who had built hundreds of sites was using Host Gator, because they provide unlimited domain hosting for about $90 a year.
You can build on a template on that site, or you might be better off using Wordpress as a template. That's wordpress.org, not wordpress.com.
So you should be able to build your template and host it on your domain name, but before you even write the content, you need to learn about SEO.
Stuff like having your keyword content as 3% of the text, and making back links from social bookmarking sites and articles.
So you have your website selling your product, or set up with advertising from Google Adsense, or any of the other advertisers, you have your page optimized, and you've done your keyword research to check the search volumes, and competition, but there's one last thing.
Do people like it? Is your webpage going to keep people's interest for long enough that they click on an ad, buy a product, or keep looking through the site?
Would they recommend it to a friend? Some sites set up referral programs, which are the ultimate way of encouraging your customers to tell other people, and you can even post as an affiliate payer on Clickbank or Amazon, and then you only pay when somebody buys something.
This works out a little better than Google Adwords ads, because you don't have to pay for useless clicks. So are you ready to build a large passive income online? Personally, I'm not really that motivated to build my own websites, that's why I write on someone else's.
I do pretty well here, it's a reasonable way to build a passive income, and if you haven't joined, you can get paid well for writing articles on Factoidz by clicking here.
